Memphis rapper GloRilla is featured in a new Sprite ad campaign celebrating 50 years of hip-hop.

The soft drink commercial, dubbed “Icon’s Delight,” features a mix of hip-hop figures from across the music’s history, delivering a new song based on the Sugarhill Gang’s classic “Rapper’s Delight.” In it, GloRilla trades verses with legendary New York MCs Rakim and Nas and fellow newcomer, Atlanta rapper Latto.

For GloRilla, the high-profile turn in the ad continues her year-long success story. Born Gloria Woods, the 23-year-old’s fast rise over the last 12 months has resulted in a Grammy nomination, a BET award win, a significant signing to Yo Gotti’s CMG label, as well as a top 10 pop hit and a couple gold singles.

The Coca-Cola-owned Sprite brand — which has had a long association with hip-hop dating back to the ‘80s — is running the ads in connection with the release of a limited-edition flavor, Lymonade Legacy.

The commercial is part of a larger Sprite summer campaign celebrating what is considered the golden anniversary of hip-hop’s birth this summer. The company will also be sponsoring Drake’s upcoming “It’s All a Blur” tour, which will stop at FedExForum on June 29.
